The Arkansas Department of Labor was given the responsibility of enforcing the labor laws of the state in 1913. Today, the mission of the Arkansas Department of Labor is to foster, promote, and develop the health, safety and welfare of the wage earners of Arkansas by providing services and enforcing laws to improve working conditions and enhance their opportunities for safe and profitable employment, and increase both in productivity and efficiency to improve processes and public services.
eTools and the eMatrix are "stand-alone," interactive, Web-based training tools on occupational safety and health topics. They are highly illustrated and utilize graphical menus. Some also use expert system modules, which enable the user to answer questions, and receive reliable advice on how OSHA regulations apply to their work site. Expert Advisors are based solely on expert systems and v-Tools are prevention video training tools.
OLI is an online educational platform that enhances classroom learning through digital modules that provide feedback to instructors. Students use the modules to learn and engage with material in an interactive online environment, while activities examine each student's understanding of key concepts. The instructor uses the data from the platform to design the class and focus on important areas. National STEM Consortium pathways are available at OLI as downloadable documents with a limited number of interactive lessons — two per course — for difficult to learn/difficult to teach topics; the STEM Readiness and STEM Foundations courses are fully interactive on OLI.
